I chose the photo of the hand holding the world in his hand because that is what Imperialism was all about, who could control the most land. The more land you had, the more powerful you became.

The open door policy was introduced in 1899 that addressed foreign countries access into China. After the acquisition of the Philippine Islands in 1898, the United States had become an East Asian power, andthe United States felt its commercial interests in China were threatened when European nations began to get involved. U.S. Secretary of State John Hay sent notes to the major powers asking them to declare formally that they would keep Chinese territorial integrity. The open door policy stated that all European nations and the United States could trade with China.

The dollar diplomacy was an effort made by the United States under President Taft to strenghen its economic power in Latin American countries by guaranteeing loans made to foreign powers.

Yellow journalism is a type of journalism format that includes using little factual research in there articles, but instead uses popping headlines to sell their newspapers. Yellow journalism techniques include exaggeration, and sensationalism. Yellow journalism is often used when describing political figures.
How Did Imperialism lead to WWI?
Imperialism caused tensions between countries and it ignited the flame that then caused militarism, nationalism, and alliances. Economic, political, and cultural domination of nations by stronger nations contributed to the outbreak of war because it lead to disputes over territory between countries. Germany was jealous that Britain owned 25% of the Worlds population at the time. This set off disputes and eventually led to war.
